International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS)
The annual conference of 2007 was held in Ouro Preto, Brazil.

From 23rd to 27th of August, Dr. Hans-Joachim Menzel, President of the XXV. International
Symposium for Biomechanics in sports, invited sports scientists to come to Brazil:
" It will be the first time that this conference comes to Latin America, where Sport
Biomechanics has been growing over the last three decades.
One of the most important Centers of Sports Excellence is at Federal University
of the State of Minas Gerais in Belo Horizonte (UFMG), which has the honor to organize
the XXIV Conference of the ISBS in 2007."

Ouro Preto: UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site
Ouro Preto was the capital of the state of Minas Gerais until 1897.
In 1981 UNESCO proclaimed Ouro Preto a World Cultural Heritage Site.
CONTEMPLAS sponsored "Hans Gros New Investigator Award"
Being an official ISBS "Silver Sponsor" (see
www.isbs.org) CONTEMPLAS in 2007 again supported the work of the young scientists
in the field of biomechanics in sports. The winners of the Award were selected by
a committee of scientists and obtained a diploma and a prize money.
